Russian stocks may open higher on slight external positivity
MOSCOW, Jul 9 (PRIME) -- The Russian stock market may open modestly higher on Thursday following previous positivity on the global markets, but the trend will exhaust soon due to a lack of really encouraging news, analysts said.
“The Russian stock market is likely to open moderately higher… (as) futures for the main global benchmarks are seen in the positive territory although close to zero. Due to a lack of really positive news, yesterday’s growth oversees looks exhausted,” Alexei Korenev, investment company Finam’s analyst, said.
Power produce Enel Russia will begin trading ex-dividend, and diamond producer ALROSA and steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) will have the final trading session before the record date, Korenev also said.
Olma senior analyst Anton Startsev said that the external background gives no reason for the RTS index to leave the current consolidation range, but the benchmark may demonstrate a rise in the morning.
